can marimo integrate with ipydatagrid ?

At a glance

The community members are discussing the new mo.ui.experimental_data_editor and a feature-rich editable table released by Bloomberg called ipydatagrid. They are wondering if marimo can embed and run ipywidgets interactively. One community member suggests reaching out to the maintainer of ipydatagrid to migrate to anywidget, and another community member expresses interest in seeing marimo support features like heatmaps and color bars from the ipydatagrid library. However, there is no explicitly marked answer in the comments.

Useful resources
the new mo.ui.experimental_data_editor is super cool, but it looks like Bloomberg has released a pretty feature-rich editable table:

I was wondering: can marimo embed ipywidgets?
and can it run them interactively?

My guess is not because its not based on anywidget. @manzt have you reached out to this maintainer to migrate to anywidget?

@DanielKovi are there any features you'd like to see marimo support from this library?
I have not reached out. I'll look into the maintainer
@Myles Scolnick i think the 'experimental_data_editor' accomplishes a lot

i have issues though with the number formatting, adding thousand separators with string formatters or + for positive numbers

some of the adcanced formatting in this one would be awesome,
heatmaps, colour bars especially
