Server slow to start?

So after a lot of messing around I was able to get a notebook to run in VSCode. I have marimo installed via a uv environment.

It took quite a long time to get started and I was just wondering if this is normal behaviour?

I've included a screenshot of the Output in VSCode. It shows that from start to finish it took nearly 3 minutes.

uv should be much faster than that. Did you have ok internet connection?
I thought it should be, that's why it's puzzling. I have 1Gbit internet, but I don't think Internet should be the bottleneck here as it's being hosted locally.

I presume there must be some misconfiguration somewhere or perhaps a quirk from running with WSL perhaps?
marimo does an update check which does require internet, but it times out pretty quickly.

You can try --skip-update-check
but I wonder if that would change much
This is WSL + what base distro? @apd
